Welcome to Hyde Park

Hyde ParkThe Hyde Park neighborhood is a National Register Historic District. This racially diverse community, is a product of the recent revitalization of residential and business development. This area is also the hub of several historic landmarks, including the Grand and Bissell Point Water Towers and the twin towers of the Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Hyde Park is a neighborhood ready for continued revitalization. The Hyde Park Strategic Plan is a visionary outline for re-development which is based both on existing physical conditions, and organizational strengths. Hyde Park has been the recent recipient of an extensive increase of City services for beautification projects, the resurgence of local businesses, and other community enhancements such as recreational facilities and stronger neighborhood schools. Residence, primarily composed of low-to moderate-income families, are committed to developing a sustainable plan that will promote the people, services, and restoration of Hyde Park.

Institutions
A coalition of service-oriented neighborhood groups is at the core of this vibrant community. Several grass-roots organizations have played an active role in the revitalization and redevelopment of this community. The Hyde Park Alliance, Hyde Park Business Association, Northside Team Ministry, and Friedans Haus are organizations committed to Hyde Park's rebirth. Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church and Clay Community Education Center have played an important and unifying role in this community for many years. The institutions offer quality social services and education for neighborhood residents. Mentor programs, youth summer camps, and a teen group offer practical and enjoyable instruction and activities for Hyde Park youngsters. The Hyde Park Strategic Plan coordinates all such organizations. Their goal is to attain neighborhood cohesiveness, beauty, safety, economic stability, and youth-directed recreation and activities for Hyde Park residents.
