Location

This neighborhood Northwest of the City is bounded by Emerson on the Northwest, West Florissant on the Northeast, and Interstate 70 on the Southwest and on the South.

Institutions

Religious institution in the area like the St. Simone of Cyrene Catholic Church, Philip Neri, St. Matthews Missouri Baptist Church, New Mount Zion Baptist Church, and others provide for the spiritual and social needs of this community. Mark Twain elementary school caters to the educational needs of the neighborhood youth, and it is home to the Imani Family Center which provides services and support to area families and children.

Characteristics

This residential neighborhood is home to many young families. It consist of well constructed and maintained brick and frame single-family homes, and a few two-family homes. Most of these dwellings were built between 1900 and 1930 by German immigrants and display the architecture of this era. Neighbors are consistently working together to strengthen and build their community in order to confront emerging urban challenges. The affordability of the housing stock allows many young families to become first time home buyers in this neighborhood. A variety of small businesses along Natural Bridge provide residents with needed services and conveniences.
