At Tower Grove Park, we are always on the lookout for new volunteers. As a potential member of Tower Grove Park's team, you will be contributing your talents and energies to improve the environment and quality of the Park, as well as the Park's services. The more goodwill our volunteers promote, the more our visitors will respect and appreciate the Park's facilities. Office / Administration: Filing, answering
phones, making copies, helping with park related mailings,
other clerical duties.
Host / Hostess: Generally at The Piper
Palm House, distributing information and assisting Park visitors. Also
may include Park related Special Events at The Piper Palm
House or other Park venues.
Senior Services at the Stupp Center: Answering
phone calls, helping with the set up and clean up of senior
programs, assisting in the mailing process of the Stupp Center
newsletter.
Horticulture: Assist the Park's staff with plant maintenance, i.e.-planting flowers, weeding and general upkeep.
Maintenance: Light maintenance work including Park beautification and litter patrol.
Equestrian: Our equestrian program is looking
for volunteers with equestrian backgrounds to help with the
general upkeep of the stable area.
Recreational Programs: Assist park staff
with recreational programs at the Tennis Center and the sports
fields.
Staff the Friends booth: We have a new booth
which we need to staff during all the major events at the
Park, such as the Compton Heights Band Concerts and all the
festivals and races held in the Park. Shifts are only two
hours, during which you will hand out information about the
Friends and Tower Grove Park and answer questions.
Park Docent: Help promote the Park by learning
its history and then conducting tours of the Park to various
groups. Your time committment may be only a few hours a year.
Tennis Center: Assist the Head Pro and Pro
Shop attendants with Tennis Center and Tennis Court maintenacne,
i.e. cleaning the inside of the courts in preperation for
play, sweeping and raking leaves, weeding, picking up sweet
gum balls, etc. Set up and clean up for tennis social/events
and assistance with tournaments, hard courts and grass courts.
General: There are volunteer opportunities at the Park that become available that may or may not fit into one of these categories. In these instances, we need Park volunteers who may be looking to volunteer in areas outside of their usual area.
