Guardian Angel Settlement just celebrated 150 years in our neighborhood. Kingdom House has been here since 1902. They were here when the neighborhood was covered with brownstones and teeming with European refugees making their way into a new world. Both agencies still assist families in transition, with multiple family support services like child care, emergency food, after school programs for children, sports, and legal assistance. Kingdom House is also home to The Near Southside Employment Coalition. They'll help you sharpen up your resume, and give you leads for finding a job. Also, check out the Grace Hill Business and Career Center at Kingdom House. Check out Phil Brown and Joyce Pullum at 12th and Park Recreation Center. They've got a great pool, and decent hoops. They have lots of activities for children and senior citizens.
