Southampton Neighborhood Association
The Southampton Neighborhood Association has been an active organization since 1922. Neighborhood boundaries are: Chippewa, Hampton, Rhodes, Gravois, Kingshighway and Christy.
Meets:7:00 p.m. the second Wednesday of every odd numbered month, at the Southampton Presbyterian Church Parish Hall, 4716 Macklind, St Louis, MO 63109. Enter through the door on Nottingham. Next meeting is July 10th, 2002.
Dues:$10.00 per year. Includes a Bi-Monthly Newsletter.
Our Goals:
- Encouraging all residents to maintain their property so all of us may benefit by the preservation of property values.
- Local business owners are an important part of our neighborhood. Residents are encouraged to support our neighborhood businesses.
- Educating all residents about available City Services and how to make best use of them.
History and Highlights of the Southampton Neighborhood Association:
- Southampton Development League founded in March 1922.
- Southampton Development League becomes Southampton Neighborhood Association in 1974.
- Rhodes, Goethe, Milentz and Sigel Streets vote to join the SHNA as the Kingshighway South Association disbands in 1986.
- SHNA received Non-Profit Organization status in 1991.
- Paid Membership doubles to over 700 after Fall 1996 Membership Drive.
