The Blossom House Today

Several large estates with fashionable masions were located along the west side of Union, north of Delmar by 1875. These included homes of the Monks, Cabanne, Colman, Gay and the Blossom families. By 1870's tracts were being subdivided for residential uses. Housing construction began in the area during the early eighties, by 1900 the district was built up.

A principal subdivision in the tier along Delmar was Clemens Place (1885). Several smaller private subdivisions developed near Union and Delmar after 1890 were Windermere Place (1895), Beverly Place (1905), and Savoy Court (1909).
